SPORE Dutch Auction
How the SPORE Market Works
Every week, the SPORE token is traded in a Dutch auction — a fair and transparent system that finds the real market price between SPORE and AUR (AUR).
- 1 AUR (1/1000 gram of gold) — the stable utility currency
- SPORE is the tradable token you're buying or selling (see Token System for details).
Each auction lasts 1 week, and everyone’s buy and sell offers are collected and matched at the end of that period.
What You Can Do
You can either:
- Buy SPORE — decide how many SPORE you want and how much AUR you’re willing to pay per SPORE.
- Sell SPORE — decide how many SPORE you want to sell and at what price in AUR = 0.001 gr of gold.
When the auction closes, the system calculates one final price where total buy and sell offers balance out. All trades are then settled at that same price, no matter what you individually offered.
This keeps things fair and prevents manipulation.
🕒 Auction Timing
A new auction starts every week.
- You can place, change, or cancel your bids until the auction closes.
- Once closed, the system finalizes the clearing price and executes all matching trades.
If your order didn’t match, it simply expires.
The Liquidity Pool (LP)
To keep the market liquid and stable, there’s a protocol liquidity pool — it acts like a long-term buyer and seller in every auction.
Here’s how it works:
On the Buy Side
- The LP always places a buy offer for 5% of its AUR treasury.
- It bids 20% below last week’s price — meaning it’s always ready to buy if the market drops.
On the Sell Side
- The LP also places a sell offer for 5% of its SPORE holdings.
- It sells 20% above last week’s price — meaning it provides supply when the market rises.
Together, these two offers create a price band around last week’s level, keeping SPORE trading within a healthy, predictable range.
What This Means for You
-
You can always sell your SPORE — the LP guarantees there’s a buyer.
-
You can always buy SPORE — there’s also guaranteed supply.
-
You don’t have to worry about huge price swings.
-
You’ll always know the results after each week’s auction:
-
the final price (in AUR/SPORE)
-
the total volume traded
-
and next week’s range limits
Why This System Exists
The goal is to:
- Keep the market stable and fair
- Reward liquidity providers (LP holders earn yield from their spread)
- Prevent price manipulation
- Anchor value to gold through AUR
It’s designed for long-term trust and sustainability, not speculation.
