Bid Tiers (Jan 2026)

Project Mycelium sets Bid Tiers to guarantee baseline revenue for hosts.

If your slice meets the requirements of a Bid Tier, you are guaranteed this minimum income — even if the slice is idle.

Important: Hosts receive 80% of the Bid Tier price in SPORE (10% burned, 10% goes to Project Mycelium).

How Bid Tiers Work

✔ Your slice matches a tier → You get the minimum price​

Even if nobody rents your slice.

✔ You always keep 80% (in SPORE)​

The price listed is the full price; hosts get 80%.

✔ You can charge more → You keep the difference​

Setting higher prices increases revenue, as long as customers rent the slice.

✔ Multi-GPU and multi-AI slices allowed​

Nvidia and Tenstorrent slices can be combined up to 4×, as shown in the image.

Example Scenarios

Example 1 — Std Compute Slice​

  • Your node slice meets: 2,000 Perf + 4 GB RAM
  • Guaranteed minimum: 1.20 USD
  • Host receives 80% → 0.96 USD → 96 SPORE

If you set your own price to $12/month:

  • Host receives: 12 × 0.8 = 9.60 USD → 960 SPORE

Example 2 — AI Slice (Nvidia 96GB)​

  • Guaranteed minimum: $500/month
  • Host receives 80% → $400 → 40,000 SPORE

If a customer is willing to pay $900/month:

  • Host receives $720 → 72,000 SPORE

Pricing Strategy Recommendations

1. Match Bid Tiers for Safe Passive Income​

Set your slice prices near the minimum guaranteed tier:

  • Std Compute: 1.20 → → price around $2–$6
  • AI 395+: $50 → → rent for $60–$120
  • Nvidia 96GB: $500 → → real market $700–$3,000
  • Tenstorrent: $1,000 → → enterprise market $1,500–$4,000

2. Offer Long-Term Commitments​

60–90 day rentals give stable revenue.

3. Use Full Slice Capacity​

Use the “Capacity Per Slice” from the sheet:

  • CPU: 0.4–6 cores per slice
  • Perf: 880–8,750
  • RAM: 1–64 GB
  • AI: 40–2,000 GB equivalent

4. Watch Marketplace Prices​

To stay competitive, monitor:

  • RunPod
  • Vast.ai
  • Lambda Cloud
  • AWS GPU spot prices

5. Lower Prices When Idle​

Idle slices → reduce price → get more renters.
